The title for this show was ‘Revolting Children’ – well, I can assure you, that these very, very, young youngsters were totally awesome! From the moment the curtain went up, these young people gave everything in their performances and, as the opening songs were all about lions, these young kids certainly proved they had hearts of a lion! Their beaming, smiling faces proved that they were all thoroughly enjoying their stage experience and, oh boy, their confidence certainly oozed out of them and this certainly came over to the audience. The show’s first half consisted of solos and songs and musical ensembles associated with children in musicals and the soloists showed they had tremendous power in their voices and, for ones as young as this, they all sang out lustily. There wasn’t a sign of nerves at all. For the show’s second half, and with the correct permission, we were treated to excerpts from “Matilda The Musical”. This was an absolute joy to watch as they heartily sang and acted out in movement the various songs associated with this musical. This went down with a storm with the audience as we watched the well-rehearsed stage moves enthusiastically and passionately performed by the young cast. Because of the age of the company, the entire show’s running time was not too long. I had marvelled at the talent that was on view and I was very much aware that all these young boys and girls showed much promise of great and good things to come In future years on the city’s amateur stage! Revolting they were not! Well done, all!
